Microsoft Windows Update KB5074109 is preventing SliQ from working with company files on some user PCs.
The problem appears to happen more frequently on Windows 11 PCs running OneDrive and where the SliQ company file is stored in the Documents folder.
The problem is affecting a number of applications including Microsoft's own Outlook Classic.
If you have the problem on your PC you may see raise an "unexpected error" message when trying to work with a file OR you may see SliQ offer to copy/ migrate your company file to a new location. If you don't see an error then there is no need to do anything. If you do see the error, please read the Solution section below.
We apologise for this problem happening but the Windows update problem is beyond our control.
In the next week or so, Microsoft may release a fix to the Windows update. However, this cannot be guaranteed.
As the problem only occurs for files held in the Documents folder on a PC, the solution is to copy your SliQ company file to a different location outside of the Documents folder and reopen it from the new location in SliQ.
If you do see a message about an unexpected error when running SliQ, we recommend:-
The new version tries to detect the problem as it happens. If it does successfully detect the problem it will offer to copy your company file to a new, error free location.
If a problem still occurs it may be that you have a different error. In this case, we recommend restoring your data from a backup.
SliQ automatically saves backups into the folder Documents\SliQInvoicing6\Autobackup. You can try restoring from the most recent backup file.
To restore a file in SliQ use either the File menu at the top left and choose Restore from a backup, or use the Restore from a backup button on the start dialog as shown below.

Clicking the button below will take you to our downloads page where you can download the latest version of SliQ Invoicing.
