If you edit a customer message while entering a new invoice, quote or credit note, you are offered the option of saving the edited message as a standard customer message. If you do this, the messaged will be added to the list of messages along with the original version of the message.

Note: No changes you make to a standard message will affect any existing invoices, quotes or credit notes.
