Directory Submission Tips

Follow these tips to make the most out of SliQ Submitter and directory submission:

SliQ Submitter - Basic Usage

Follow these 4 steps to submit your website details to directories using SliQ Submitter:

  1. Enter your website details

Enter your website's URL, your name, contact email address and so on into the Properties panel at the top right of the Directory Submitter tab.

  1. Press the Next Directory button

This will load the next directory. When the directory's submit page has been loaded, SliQ will automatically fill the submission form's fields with your website details.

  1. Review the Details on the Directory Page

Make sure the details are correctly filled out, enter any required CAPTCHA code then press the Submit/ Confirm/ Continue button on the directory page to complete the submission process.

  1. Repeat step 2 and 3 to submit to further directories

NOTE: If SliQ can detect that your directory submission was successful, it will automatically load the next directory. If SliQ can't detect success then press the Next Directory button to load the next directory.

SliQ always saves all changes

SliQ Submitter always saves all changes you make when it closes.

You never need to press a Save button, SliQ always saves everything.

SliQ thinks Visited = Submitted

SliQ always checks the Visited? column in the directory list when a directory page has been loaded even if you don't complete the submission.

If the Visited? box remains checked, SliQ will not visit the directory again when you press the Next Directory button.

If you want to complete the submission at a later date, uncheck the Visited? box for the directory.

Selecting the Best Directory Category

Submitting your website to the most appropriate category in a directory will increase your chances of being accepted by the directory owner.

SliQ attempts to learn the categories you select when submitting to a directory. When a new directory is loaded, SliQ will try to select one of the categories it has leaned from your previous directory submissions.

NOTE: If SliQ fails to select a category, you will have to complete the category selection manually. Sometimes SliQ is unable to learn the category selection or choose a selection when a new directory page is loaded.

The good news is that as you submit to more directories, SliQ learns more and more categories and the chances of coming across a directory with an unknown set of categories becomes less.

Enter Variations on the Website Title and Description

A directory will likely use your titles as the link text back to your website so you should try to use the title to reinforce the keywords for your web pages. SliQ allows you to specify up to 5 titles and descriptions for your website.

As SliQ submits to successive directories it will cycle through your titles and descriptions.

If you have 5 titles, you don't need to specify 5 descriptions, e.g. you could have 4 titles and 1 description - SliQ will cycle through however many titles or descriptions you specify.

Double-clicking a Directory Visits the Directory

You can double-click any entry in the directory list to visit the directory and fill out its submission form even if its Visited? column is checked.

ReFill Page writes details to the current page

By pressing the ReFill Page button you can reload your website details into the current directory page. On each press of ReFill page, SliQ cycles through your titles and descriptions.

Some Directories Require a Category Page to be Selected First

Some directories require you to navigate to a category page first before pressing the directory's Submit Link button. If you need to do this, press the ReFill Page button to fill the submission page.
